Best Flowers for AeroGarden
Pansies
Pansies aren’t very big, so you shouldn’t have any trouble growing them even in smaller models like the Aerogarden Herbie. They also come in a wide range of colors, so you can match the color of the flowers to the color of the room where they are growing.
The only bad thing about pansies is that they can’t be bought in pods. You will need to get seeds or seedlings and make your own seed pods. But don’t worry, we wrote an article about how to do that. It’s here for you to read.
Wildflowers
If your Aerogarden has enough room, you should be able to grow anything that grows in soil. If you like a flower you see outside, you can just plant it in a flower pot, but make sure you know what kind of care that flower needs.
The best thing about wildflowers is that they don’t need much care, or sometimes any care at all, because your smart garden will give them all the light and water they need.
Alpine meadows
One of the flowers that will help your air the most is a mountain meadow. How do you think people say the air in the mountains is the best? Well, that’s because there are mountain meadows and no roads, factories, etc.
The good thing about growing mountain meadows indoors is that you can buy them in a seed pod kit. This means that all you have to do is put the seed pods in the soil and wait for the magic to happen over time.
Petunias
One of the most common plants used to decorate the outside of a house. You can grow them in your smart garden inside during the winter and then move them outside in the spring. They will bring a lot of good energy to your place.
Petunias can be bought in seed pods, just like mountain meadows. This means that planting this plant shouldn’t give you much or any reason to worry. Just put the pods in your smart garden, and you’re ready to go. Oh, and don’t forget the liquid nutrients and water.
Celosia “Rainbow Fire”
This is another flower that can be bought already grown in seed pods. If you choose rainbow fire celosia, remember that they can grow very tall and will probably need to be moved into flower pots in the future. Another bad thing is that they don’t smell. If you want to plant flowers because they smell nice, I suggest you choose a different flower.
How to take care of flowers in an Aerogarden?
The good thing about having a smart garden is that most of the work will be done for you by the system. Just make sure your plants don’t run out of water or other things they need to grow.
The most important thing to do is to look at your flowers every day for any rotten spots (either leaves or the flowers themselves). If you find any, you should get rid of them right away. If you don’t get rid of them, the bacteria or parasites could spread to your other healthy plants.
How long will the flowers in an Aerogarden last?
If you take good care of your flowers, they could bloom for up to 7 months. For some flowers, it could even be more. From 2 to 4 weeks will pass before your flower seed pods start to bloom.
If you are making your own flower seed pods, don’t forget to add nutrients. I think you should buy liquid nutrients online and put them in your Aerogarden when it tells you to.
Important!
You should clean your aerogarden with chlorine bleach or white vinegar after every final harvest or replanting. This really matters. If you don’t clean your system, pathogens and other bacteria could get into the roots, killing or rotting your plants. Plus, you might have a lot of bugs on your plants at home. You can read all about how to clean your Aerogarden here if you don’t know how.
